I opened up TikTok and saw a comment on one of our videos, "It looks like a cheap, 1980s infomercial design.".

I was at an international basketball camp in Los Angeles, three kids nervously walked up because they recognized us from social media. After we talked for a few minutes, the nerves began to wash away. They started opening up about their past season, their upcoming season, where they're from, and, to my surprise, how they thought our logo wasn't cool.

I didn't expect to hear that, but I did agree. The Grip Spritz logo wasn't cool, and we're in an industry where "aura", being cool, and internet memes drive the culture.

New Products, New Look, Same Results

When the original logo was created, basketball shoe grip sprays didn't exist. When Grip Spritz hit the market, we weren't sure if it would catch on, much less that it would expand into what it is today.

Since then, Grip Spritz has created a market and a name for ourselves. When we listed Grip Spritz on Amazon, the list of shoe traction sprays started and ended there. Today you'll find over 50 alternatives.

Today, you'll also find Grip Spritz in the bags of over 250,000 athletes in over 75 countries. As we expanded into traction mats and court mops, a fresh, new look was needed.

While we loved the original logo, it looked out of place on D1 college sidelines and at Nike EYBL events.

Our goal was to show Grip Spritz was THE name in court traction. For players, high school teams, college teams, NBA teams, and gyms all over the world.

An Ode to the Past...

With Grip Spritz being so prominent for youth athletes and on the sidelines of colleges, we didn't want a full corporate feel.

Our individual player traction spray bottles still have a bright, fun feel to them. You'll still see flashes of yellow on the bottle, much like the original logo.
