Form Shooting Warmup

Before a basketball game, practice, or workout, getting shooting mechanics warmed up is important!

Here is a super simple warmup you can do to get loose and get ready to play basketball.

Form Shooting Warmup

No need to get fancy here!

10-15 shots from the side of the basket. Get your shoulders, elbows, and wrists loose. Perfect form, no need to worry about makes or misses. Bring the ball up from your shooting pocket, good release, and focus on hitting the side of the basket squarely.

Next, 5 made shots, net only, from each block and just in front of the basketball. Focus here on just your release hand. Remove your guide hand from the ball entirely.

Finally, after these 15 makes, add some legs to your shot. Again, starting just in front of the rim, make a shot with all net. After each make, step back and repeat until you're at the free throw line. It should be anywhere from 5-7 shots.

Try this out next time you're warming up! Add your own variations, too. Anything to get your shot ready to go will have you getting quality shots up right away without wasting reps in practice or pregame warmups!
